Preparations Continue for the First Congress of the Sahrawis for Peace Movement
A new meeting of the Coordinating Committee in charge of preparing the Constituent Congress of the Sahrawis for Peace Movement in the Saguia El Hamra region was held yesterday in Laayoune.
The meeting was chaired by Ahmed Ould Jer, the Chief Coordinator and member of the Movement’s Council of Advisors, and attended by the other members of the Coordinating Committee.
During the session, participants reviewed the progress achieved during the first week following the establishment of the Preparatory Committee. They unanimously expressed satisfaction with the positive results obtained in the regional capital, Laayoune, and outlined a plan to intensify and expand activities to other cities within the region.
In Dakhla, the capital of the Oued Eddahab region, another meeting was held last night under the chairmanship of Abdallahi Berray, Chief Coordinator and member of the Movement’s Political Committee.
This meeting, attended by members of the regional Preparatory Committee for the Congress, focused on membership efforts. According to the views expressed during the meeting, recent weeks have witnessed a notable increase in membership, with a significant rise in the number of women joining the Movement.
Several members of the Political Leadership of the Sahrawis for Peace Movement (MSP) also took part in the meeting.
